I got a beautiful email from a client the other day filled with pictures showing the display of portraits I have taken over the past three years of her handsome son. When I last saw the family in the fall last year, they were moving from Brazil to China and home, Michigan, was their pitstop for two days. I not only got to see all of them, but photograph the family together as well as the little guy’s individual yearly portraits. I was so flattered that they fit portraits into their crazy two day schedule on top of the major fatigue they had to be feeling as well as all the visiting with friends and family during their short stay, but that was NOTHING compared to the feeling I had when I opened Brenda’s email. It made my day and I awed just looking at the display she has created in China of the many sessions since her son’s newborn portraits until the most recent in October. It’s moments like this that I am in total bliss as I’m reminded of how monumental my job is in other peoples’ lives. I know portraits I create can bring smiles on some faces and tears in others eyes, but I promise and I swear, that if you only knew how your reaction, your gestures in such as this of showing me how important they are to you, it’s me who is the real lucky one.
Thank you, Brenda for taking the time to share with me how stunning your arrangement of the portraits are all the way from the other side of the world right now. You made my day, and you manage to do that everytime I see you!
